TV's changing!

I seriously don’t get the actors of today. Either they are actors or clerks on a 9-5 job.

They come for shoots at a stipulated time and go back when they are done. I did not know that acting had become a sedentary job. Where are the people who actually want to add more to their character and stay true to their skill? Acting was supposed to be a profession! Not a menial job!

It is definitely not what it used to be.

I agree that the scope of television has widened and the competition has increased but should this be the reason for the quality of actors to decrease?

I am sure many serials from the past make you nostalgic for eg: “Shanti” and “Aurat” but would you say the same for today’s TV entertainment? I think not.

It’s upon an actor to make his character memorable but if he/she doing it just for the money; be prepared for more serials and reality TV in the near future.

Gr8 magazine

GR8 magazine interview was GR8

Yes quite literally, because I got to speak about something I love the most! Acting and exercising.

The Gr8 magazine asked me about my role and my regimen and I was more than happy to shell out the information.

A Play as grand as “Mohen-jo-Daro”; deserves so much dedication. I was disciplined with my diet and exercise routine and even my gym trainer got scared because of the weights I was lifting. The truth is I treat all my roles with equal dedication. Because I can let my body diet but not my soul.

Mohenjodaro time

Yesterday was the new innings of the play Mohenjodaro and my first show with the team. It's a weird feeling. A feeling of accomplishments. A feeling of apprehension. A feeling of conquering my fears. a great feeling I must say.

I must not ignore the many mistakes we made as a team, but when there are different categories of artists putting in varied levels of efforts, the end result is not always as highly expected. One needs to innovate and constantly work on one-self!

When the directors pulled me up on stage to share a few words, I had a lump in my throat. But I wanted to shout out loud, Yes! I did it. The language barrier, the physical appearance, the many hours of rehearsals paid off when I saw the audience clap and salute us at the end.

A chapter of history made some history in my life!

Excitement in challenges

YES! I want to declare that I am a part of MOHENJODARO. The play is is a period drama on the war between the Aryans and the Dravidians who inhabited the Indian shores back in 2500 B.C The production not only recreates the times of that era but also conveys the message of peace and the victory of good over evil.

For me it comes as a big challenge to get a command on the chusta Hindi bhashaa (language), to build a fit muscular body like that of a warrior and of course reproducing this on the stage.

ExCITING times!!! I have begun the gym training in full enthusiasm. My trainer is scared of the amount of weights I am lifting. Guess it is time for some change.

Oh also, aap logon ko bataya that I am also going to be training for the Manipur form of Martial Art called THANGA. Wondering yeh 'Thanga' mujhe thenga na de de.

On that note, back to my training.
Keep the miracle going folks!

Romance with the television

Acting for me is an art of expression. Probably one of the strongest form to let myself experience the unknown!

I started with the good boy with 'Kyun ki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi' very many years ago. But times have changed and people don't just watch telly for good things. They like the edgier story line and the challenges shown.

My love with television has always been consistent but the romance is on it's peak while I am portraying the negative character. The audience love to hate me and that gives me a high in itself!

With each role and portrayal I try to give it complete justice and like that it is appreciated time & again!

Solitude

Just as much as I love working, I have always enjoyed taking some time off.
One great thing post Laado & Lo Kallo Baat is that I got to catch up with parents and was able to take them to visit Ajmer dargah & the world's only Brahma temple in Pushkar (both in Rajasthan).

Visiting the Dargah & the Brahma temple experience was divine, serene, pious, holy and a very cleaning effect on my marathon mind!

Just one truth stared at my face... "From the Dargah in Ajmer to the Brahma temple at Pushkar there is only one truth" The almighty is one!!!

So didn't turn out to be a 'Jaan'

Yes I am very cheesed off with "U r my Jaan's" no promotion stint. Few hoardings & posters don't comprehend a flm's promotion. It doesn't justify the efforts the entire team & unit drilled in.

It's a shame to face this as the film is shot very well with great cinematography & aesthetic sense but the fact that the producer & director is not from the film
terrain makes it apparent for the no show.

Another prick was that my role was slashed in the final output. It was a very pleasing characterization in the lines of a Hollywood classic.

I will such films are seldom made as they turn out to be a big mockery on the money spent & the efforts dedicated!
