Romance with the television

Acting for me is an art of expression. Probably one of the strongest form to let myself experience the unknown!

I started with the good boy with 'Kyun ki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi' very many years ago. But times have changed and people don't just watch telly for good things. They like the edgier story line and the challenges shown.

My love with television has always been consistent but the romance is on it's peak while I am portraying the negative character. The audience love to hate me and that gives me a high in itself!

With each role and portrayal I try to give it complete justice and like that it is appreciated time & again!

Solitude

Just as much as I love working, I have always enjoyed taking some time off.
One great thing post Laado & Lo Kallo Baat is that I got to catch up with parents and was able to take them to visit Ajmer dargah & the world's only Brahma temple in Pushkar (both in Rajasthan).

Visiting the Dargah & the Brahma temple experience was divine, serene, pious, holy and a very cleaning effect on my marathon mind!

Just one truth stared at my face... "From the Dargah in Ajmer to the Brahma temple at Pushkar there is only one truth" The almighty is one!!!

So didn't turn out to be a 'Jaan'

Yes I am very cheesed off with "U r my Jaan's" no promotion stint. Few hoardings & posters don't comprehend a flm's promotion. It doesn't justify the efforts the entire team & unit drilled in.

It's a shame to face this as the film is shot very well with great cinematography & aesthetic sense but the fact that the producer & director is not from the film
terrain makes it apparent for the no show.

Another prick was that my role was slashed in the final output. It was a very pleasing characterization in the lines of a Hollywood classic.

I will such films are seldom made as they turn out to be a big mockery on the money spent & the efforts dedicated!

How TV hasn't changed over the years too!

Having been around for more than a decade, it still surprises every time I stumble upon incidences from the industry. So I was playing the character of Bhanupratap in the serial "Na Aana Is Des Laado" and it was going quite well. Much appreciation coming our way & the act was all going well together.

May be for few reasons they decided to change the plot and moved the story to city. Great as I was told to get a wide scope with my character growth. Just when I thought it would pick up well, in no time they decided to chop my character.

A major decision is open to no discussion with us actors. I will this had been slightly more professional since the years have passed by. Various reasons for this sudden change in the storyline of the show.

Some blame it on the insecurity of the co-actors, some to the insecurity of the channel with other competitive shows. At the end of the day, I am open to changes. Those changes which are well spoken about and discussed to satisfaction levels.

Here is a photo from my last day at Laado shoot.... Enjoy!!!

Written to me by the popular RJ Malishka: In further news:it is empowering yet disturbing to watch Ammaji light up the evillll in flames! He is lame n she was tied up!

Warm regards to all the Bhanupratap fans... time to bid adieu to yet another baddie!

My memorable time in school

It was during my school days at 'Our lady of Fatima' in Patiala... I must confess I used to be one of the most notorious kids of my time.. So much that I was proud to be the last bencher & the adamant kid of the class. I was famous for throwing paper chits at teachers at the wrong times....ooops I mean the right times!

A lot of times I was summoned by the principal Sister Adel. I used to be caught during her rounds and yes, it was like an achievement. The proud me to stand out of the class like an award winning ceremony to fetch my award.

I was given a choice of sticks, some thin & some thick. These were going to be used to whip the innocent devil in me. It was always a wonder, whether to pick the thinner ones (they'd hit the bones) or the thick ones (they'dbruise my skin)... But that is where all the knowledge comes from. I take those as the initial steps of learning. Learning to the cruel world we now face!

I salute all the teachers alike Sister Adel from whom I have been fortunate to learn from throughout these funny, sad, interesting, ugly yet beautiful years of my life this Teacher's Day 2011.

Aman Verma strikes it lucky By TellychakkarTeam 27 Jul 2011

Recently director-producer Prakash Jha was on the sets of Lo Kallo Baat and he was so impressed with the anchor of the show Aman Vermathat he offered him a role in his next film.

As we all know that Prakash Jha has been promoting his movie Aarakshan and as part of the promotional campaign he went on the sets of Lo Kallo Baat. The director had an overwhelming conversation with Aman where he spoke about his desire to reserve Ajay Devgan and Amitabh Bachchan for his films. Prakash was so impressed by Aman that he offered him a role in his upcoming movie. An ecstatic Aman could not stop smiling.

This is what we call baaton baaton mein kaam nikalwah lena!
